ABSTRACT

This research aims to determine the concentration of insecticide containing the active ingredient azadirachtin that is safe for the growth and health of common carp and determine its long-term effects. This research was carried out at the Ciparanje Inland Fisheries Area Hatchery, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Padjadjaran University from October to November 2022. An experimental method is used with a Completely Randomized Design on data with five treatments and three replications. The treatments consisted of treatments A (control), B (25.75 ppm), C (51.5 ppm), D (77.25 ppm), and E (103 ppm). The results showed that treatments D and E had survival rates below 80% with values of 66.7% and 58.3% respectively. The number of red blood cells decreased due to insecticide exposure with the lowest point reached on the third day in treatment E as much as 0.84 × 104 cells/mm3. The number of white blood cells increased due to insecticide exposure with the highest point reached on the third day in treatment E as much as 11.12 × 10⁴ cells/mm³. Feed and shock responses had a decline that only reached the fourth day.
