ABSTRACT
The territorial waters directly opposite the Indian Ocean have complex aquatic characteristics. In Indonesia, very instrumental wind patterns are seasonal or monsoon winds, including on the southern coast of Java which is still affected by monsoon winds. The wind that blows above sea level causes waves and carries a speed with energy. The study aims to determine the wave energy generated from wave forecasting in Pangandaran Bay. The data used in the study was wind data from December 2011 to August 2021, during the west season, east season, and transition season. Wave forecasting uses the SPM method. The study results obtained that the condition of the direction and speed of the wind affects the energy of the wave generated. The height and period of significant waves are 0.544 meters and 3.048 seconds, with the most considerable ocean wave energy in the eastern season, which is 371.356 Joules, and an estimated electrical power of 121.85 Watts.
