ABSTRACT
Using a set-up vortex apparatus, this work focuses on the observation and analysis of free and driven vortex. The hydraulic bench and the vortex apparatus are the two main components of the setup. The hydraulic bench and the vortex apparatus are the two main components of the setup. The hydraulic bench supplies the vortex apparatus with a continuous and controlled supply of water during the numerous experiments, while the vortex apparatus is where two varieties of vortex are being seen and investigated. Additionally, the hydraulic bench is used to determine the volumetric flow rate, position the experimental unit on the bench’s working surface, and collect discharged water. When water enters through the radial inlet (15 degrees), a free vortex forms, but a forced vortex forms when water enters from the tangential outlet (60 degrees).
