The demand for energy increases with the development of civilization. According to popular opinion, traditional energy resources, mainly fossil fuels (coal, oil, natural gas), are depleted and their use causes an increase in environmental pollution, mainly greenhouse gases. Therefore, renewable energy sources (RES), such as agricultural biogas plants, which are harmless to the world around us, are gaining importance. The European Union pays great attention to environmental protection and soil protection (organic fertilization with digestate, biogas plants) and energy issues. It emphasizes the increase in the share of energy from renewable energy in the total energy consumption. In EU countries, energy issues are regulated by relevant directives and the so-called Green and White Paper .
