ABSTRACT
Effective medical equipment management is critical to ensuring patient safety, operational efficiency, and cost-effectiveness in large healthcare institutions. This study explores a multidisciplinary approach to optimizing medical equipment management and safety by integrating advanced technologies, data-driven decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration. Key aspects include predictive maintenance through IoT and AI, real-time asset tracking using RFID and blockchain, and compliance with stringent regulatory standards. The research highlights the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation among biomedical engineers, healthcare administrators, IT professionals, and frontline medical staff to enhance equipment lifecycle management, minimize downtime, and improve patient outcomes. By leveraging digital transformation, risk assessment frameworks, and proactive maintenance strategies, healthcare institutions can significantly reduce operational costs while maintaining high standards of care. This paper provides insights into best practices, challenges, and future directions in medical equipment management, ultimately contributing to more resilient and efficient healthcare systems.
